The Holy Archdiocese of Australia, with deep human sorrow, announces the falling asleep in the Lord of the cleric Father Nicholas Despinoudis, who fell asleep on Tuesday, 26 September 2023, at the age of 88.
The late Father Nicholas, who was born in Neochori, Halkidiki in 1935, left his memorable mark in Adelaide, having set an example of repentance, kindness and goodness.
His Presbytera, his three children, his four grandchildren, and his fellow priests and the faithful of the Archdiocesan District of Adelaide, whom he ministered to with love, pray to the Lord for the repose of his soul in the land of the living along with the holy and righteous.
Representing His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Silouan of Sinope, along with the holy clergy of Adelaide, will preside over the holy services of the Trisagion and the Funeral Service, which will be held at the Church of Prophet Elias, Norwood, as follows:
– Trisagion: Monday, 2 October 2023, at 5:00pm
– Funeral Service: Tuesday, 3 October 2023, at 11:00am
The body of Late Father Nicholas will lay in state for public veneration on Tuesday, 3 October 2023, from 10:00am, at the Holy Church of Prophet Elias, Norwood.
