The Holy Eparchial Synod of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia will convene in an extraordinary session from 21 to 23 August 2025, under the presidency of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. During the sessions of the Synod, the matters listed on the agenda will be examined.
On Sunday, 24 August, a Synodal Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of Our Lady in Sydney, presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios. This Liturgy will mark the official conclusion of the 5th Theology Symposium organised by St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College, held on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the convening of the First Ecumenical Council. The Conference is held under the auspices of the Holy Eparchial Synod.
