The Archbishop of Australia received a delegation from the Parish of Saint Savvas of Kalymnos, Darwin

On Wednesday, 20 March, Father Christos Tsoraklidis, Parish Priest of the Parish of Saint Savvas the New of Kalymnos, in the in the Darwin region of the Northern Territory of Australia, along with Mr. George Alexopoulos and Mr. Ioannis Mousellis, current Vice Presidents of the Board of Directors of the newly established Parish, visited His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia at the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese in Sydney. During the visit, Mr. Mousellis was accompanied by his wife, Zacharoula, and Mr. Alexopoulos by his wife, Maria, and their son, Nicholas.

After their cordial reception by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia at the Archbishop’s Office, a detailed and constructive discussion followed regarding the project of erecting the new Church building, dedicated to Saint Savvas of Kalymnos, in the Palmerston area.

The members of the delegation from Darwin thoroughly informed the Archbishop about the actions that have been carried out and the planning that is to be implemented, with the goal of completing the above mentioned God-pleasing work. They also thanked their Chief Shepherd for his tireless paternal interest in the new Parish, as well as more broadly for the Greek Orthodox flock of the Northern Territory of Australia.

The Archbishop, after thanking the Parish Priest and the administration of the Parish of Saint Savvas of Kalymnos for their dedicated service so far, offered appropriate instructions and directions for carrying out the next stages of the project, while he wished for God to strengthen them and guide their steps and decisions.
