On Wednesday, 29 November 2023, a Priestly Synaxis of the Clergy of New South Wales has held, under the presidency of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, along with the presence of Their Graces, Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis, Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia and Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis.
In the context of the Synaxis, a brief review was given of the work of the 12th Clergy-Laity Congress of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, which was successfully organised in Sydney from 25 to 27 September 2023.
Also, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios informed the clergy regarding the successful organisation of the 1st Bioethics Conference of the Ecumenical Patriarchate (Rethymno, October 20-22, 2023) and expressed his thanks to those who contributed and supported its actualisation.
Finally, administrative issues were discussed, for which directions were given by the Archbishop, while the Synaxis concluded with the exchange of wishes in light of the upcoming celebration of the Nativity of the God-man, Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Twelve-days of Christmas.
