Sinaxi

On Friday, 12 July 2024, during the pastoral visit of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia to Perth, a Priestly Synaxis of the clergy of the local Archdiocesan District was held, under the presidency of His Eminence, at the Holy Monastery of Saint John.

The Synaxis was attended by the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Perth, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea, and the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Northcote, Victoria, His Grace Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, who is visiting the capital city of Western Australia as a guest at the current centenary anniversary events of the local Church.

The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia was the central theme of the Synaxis, which was led by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. His Eminence focused on the planning of the anniversary celebrations and their culmination, which will take place with the blessed presence of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Australia, this October. During the discussion that took place, ways of facilitating the participation of the Christ-loving people of Western Australia at the events in honour of the Ecumenical Patriarch were considered.
