On Wednesday, 15 March 2023, Mr. Panagiotis Tsigounis, the Father of His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis, fell asleep in the Lord, in Sydney Australia.
Mr. Tsigounis was born in 1937 in Elika, Laconia, Greece. With his wife, Panayiota, they had three children, His Grace Bishop Iakovos, Konstantinos and Antonios, as well as eight grandchildren.
His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, having been informed by His Grace Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis of the passing away of his late father, offered his sincere condolences, on behalf of, and as a whole, the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, while he wished for the consolation and strengthening of the bereaved from on high, for the relatives and friends of the recently passed Mr. Tsigounis.
On Sunday, 19 March 2023, at 7p.m, at the Holy Church of Saint Ioannis, Parramatta, Sydney, a Trisagion Service will take place for the repose of the soul of the servant of God, Panagiotis Tsigounis. The Funeral Service will take place at the same church, on Thursday, 23 March 2023, at 10:30a.m, officiated by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
