On Friday, 30 September 2022, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia arrived in Perth, Western Australia, in order to conduct the consecration of the Katholikon of the Holy Monastery of Saint John of the Mountain.
His Eminence will remain in Western Australia until the morning of Tuesday, October 4, and during his stay, apart from the Holy Consecration which he will conduct, His Eminence will also preside at the Vespers service on Saturday, October 1, at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, He will celebrate the Divine Liturgy on Sunday, October 2, at the Holy Church of Saint Nektarios, He will visit the Greek Consulate and the Greek Orthodox Nursing Home of Saint Andrew, while he will also meet many of the Greek Orthodox expatriates of Perth.
Upon his arrival at the airport of Perth, Archbishop Makarios was welcomed by His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea, Archiepiscopal Vicar for the Archdiocesan District of Perth, His Grace Bishop Emilianos of Meloa, former Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint John, the Brotherhood of the Holy Monastery, the Priests of Perth and local pious believers.
His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia is is accompanied by Archdeacon Athenagoras, Deacon Timotheos and the iconographer Mr. Lambros Nizamis.
