The work of the 12th Clergy-Laity Congress of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia continues for a second day, with great success and enthusiasm. The speakers, on Tuesday, 26 September 2023, are expected to present reports with proceedings and visions for the sectors, organisations and institutions of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.

The speakers are as follows: 

– His Grace Bishop Silouan of Sinope, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Adelaide, who will report on translations.

– His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Melbourne, who will report on the National Feeding Program: “The Five Loaves Initiative”.

– His Grace Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia, who will report on the Youth.

– His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis, Archiepiscopal Vicar of Canberra, who will report on Inter-Orthodox, Inter-Christian and Inter-Religious Relations.

– Chancellor of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Christophoros Krikelis, who will report on the Press, Communication and Public Relations Office.

– Abbot of Pantanassa Monastery, Archimandrite of the Ecumenical Throne Very Revd Fr Eusebios, who will speak on Orthodox Monasticism.

– Mr. Steve Magdas, Director of the Greek Welfare Centre of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, who will report on Social Welfare in the Archdiocese.

– Dr. Theo Penklis, Vice-President of the Consolidated Trust, the Archdiocesan Council, and Vice-Chairman of the Executive Council of St Basil’s Homes in Sydney, and Mr. Harry Patsouris, Archon of the Holy and Great Church of Christ, Chairman of the Executive Council of Saint Basil’s Homes in Adelaide, who will report on St Basil’s Homes.

– Mr. Theo Bacalakis, Archon of the Holy and Great Church of Christ, Vice-President of the Consolidated Trust, the Archdiocesan Council, Chairman of the Executive Council of the institutions of Saint John, Cairns, who will speak about Saint John’s Community Care in Cairns.

– Very Revd Father Angelo Alifierakis, Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Institutions, and Mr. Arthur Kopsias, Member of the Executive Council of “Elpis”, who will speak about the Estia Foundation, institution for individuals with special needs and the Elpis Foundation of Australia; Detox Centre.

– Mr. Vaios Anastassopoulos, Director of the Byzantine Music School of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, who will report on the School of Byzantine Music.

– Very Revd Fr Emmanuel Stamatiou, Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne and Very Revd Protopresbyter Fr Constantine Varipatis, who will speak on the Department of Internal and External Missions.

– Very Revd Protopresbyter Fr John Grillis and Very Revd Protopresbyter Fr Athanasios Giatsios, who will speak on Pastoral ministry in the Universities, Police Services and Prisons.

– Revd Fr George Liangas and Mrs Catherine Constantinidis, who will speak about Pastoral care in the area of Health.

– Mr. John Psarommatis, President of the Greek Orthodox Christian Society, who will speak about Sunday School Education.
