On Monday, 20 November 2023, a Priestly Synaxis of the Clergy of the Archdiocesan Districts of Melbourne and Northcote was held, under the presidency of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, who is currently visiting the capital city of Victoria, Melbourne.
The Synaxis was attended by Their Graces, Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis and Bishop Evmenios of Kerasounta, Archiepiscopal Vicars of Melbourne and Northcote respectively.
The keynote address, delivered by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, was focused on Bioethics. Its content, its history and the path to its recognition as a scientific branch were presented and thoroughly analysed.
A constructive dialogue followed the keynote address, while in the context of the Synaxis, they also discussed administrative and practical matters, for which His Eminence Archbishop Makarios addressed the clergy with the appropriate instructions and directions.
