The members of the delegation of the Hellenic Armed Forces, who are in Australia to attend the events for the 82nd Anniversary of the Battle of Crete, were accompanied by the Permanent Military Attaché of the Greek Embassy in Canberra, Colonel Mr. Ioannis Fasianos, and by the President of the Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand, Mr. Tony Tsourdalakis.

Their Graces the Bishops warmly welcomed the dignified visitors, on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios and conveyed his wishes and blessings to them. Afterwards, His Grace Bishop Evmenios escorted them on a tour of the facilities of the Northcote Archdiocesan District and the “Axion Esti” Holy Monastery, at the same time describing to them the vision of the Archbishop of Australia for the creation of the Greek Cultural Centre, a pioneering project that has begun to be implemented with the preparation of the relevant studies.
