Priestly Synaxis of the Clergy of Victoria

Melbourne Sinaxis (1)

A Priestly Synaxis of the clergy who serve in the Holy Dioceses of Melbourne and Chora, in the State of Victoria, was held at the facilities of the Parish of the Transfiguration of Our Lord in Thomastown. The Synaxis was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, while Their Graces, Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne and Bishop Evmenios of Chora also participated.

The central topic of discussion was the celebration of the centenary of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, which will culminate in the period from October 4 to 19, 2024, with the blessed presence of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Sydney and Melbourne. In the context of the Priestly Synaxis, issues relating to the preparations for the planned events in honour of the First of Orthodoxy, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, in the Holy Dioceses of Melbourne and Chora were examined, and the proper instructions and directions were given by Archbishop Makarios.
