His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, will be proclaimed Honorary Doctor of the Department of Theology and the Department of Social Theology and Religious Studies of the School of Theology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).
The awarding ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 7 May 2025 at 6:30 p.m. (Greece Time), in the Great Hall of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (main building, Panepistimiou 30, Athens), with the distinguished and honorary presence of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
As part of the ceremony, the honoured Archbishop Makarios will deliver a speech entitled: “Vox populi (voice of the people) on the Internet. The contemporary threat of the alteration of ecclesiastical and democratic thought.”
