On Thursday, 21 September 2023, Their Eminences, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia, Metropolitan Athenagoras of Ilion, Acharnes and Petroupolis, Metropolitan Prodromos of Rethymnos and Avlopotamos and Metropolitan Gerasimos of Petra and Cherronesos, paid a formal visit to the Consulate General of Greece in Sydney.
The above mentioned Hierarchs, who are in currently in the great Australian city of Sydney, invited by the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, to participate in the upcoming 12th Clergy-Laity Congress (September 24-27), were accompanied to the Greek Consulate by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and Their Graces, Bishop Silouan of Sinope and Bishop Bartholomew of Charioupolis.
Everyone was warmly welcomed by the Consul General of Greece, Mr. Yannis Mallikourtis, and his associates, who informed the Hierarchs from Greece about the role and activities of the Consulate General, as well as for its admirable collaboration with the Holy Archdiocese of Australia. The meeting ended with an exchange of gifts.
