Within the context of the pastoral visit of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia to the Holy Diocese of Brisbane, a Priestly Synaxis of the clergy of the Diocese was held, under his presidency and with the presence of Their Graces, Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane and Bishop Silouan of Adelaide.
During the Synaxis, His Eminence had the opportunity to thank all the clergy for their participation in the recent festive events which took place in Sydney and Melbourne, for the centenary of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia and in honour of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
His Eminence also officially introduced His Grace Bishop Bartholomew of Brisbane, listing the attributes and gifts he possesses, and expressed the belief that his collaboration with the Holy Clergy who serve in the Greek Orthodox parishes of the State of Queensland will be good and fruitful, for the benefit of the local Church and its Christian plenitude.
Finally, current administrative issues were discussed, for which the Archbishop provided the appropriate instructions and directions.
